First Lady Michelle Obama Inaugural Day & Night Fashion
First Lady Michelle Obama looked marvelous, both in her Inaugural day wear and the most anticipated Neighborhood Inaugural Ball dress. Each dress is getting both positive and negative comments from everyone. I am of the former. I thought Michelle Obama stuck to who she is. She didn’t wear the quintessential Oscar de la Renta or other huge designer names ball gowns like many of their First Ladies before her. She wore what she likes and stayed true as Michelle Obama. Sure she is the First Lady but she has her own fashion sense way before the whole politics came into her life. You could tell that she is very regal and she know what looks good on her. These actually make her such an interesting topic among the fashion bloggers, designers, critics, and experts all over the world. Not since Jackie O has this happened.
First, Michelle Obama wowed everybody with her Isabel Toledo lemon grass sheath dress with matching jacket, JCrew cardigan inside, green leather gloves and green Jimmy Choo shoes.
Then, at the Neighborhood Inaugural Ball, she came out with a one-shoulder silk and chiffon dress created by a 26 yr old Asian designer named Jason Wu. I absolutely loved it. It was so refreshing. I love the ivory color and the organza and Swarovski crystals detailing all over. Reports say that the dress is about $3500. But for Jason Wu, I’m pretty sure that the moment he saw it on TV, it was priceless. The First Lady once again wore a Jimmy Choo shoes. This time it was white satin heels.
